Yoga Nidra for Hurricane Anxiety with Shanarae

It’s the height of hurricane season. Are you feeling overwhelmed or anxious? Do you feel worried or fearful? Join me for a guided meditation class that will help to restore your calm, balance your emotions, and activate your body’s natural healing energy. Yoga Nidra known as sleepless sleep or yogic sleep is a guided meditation practice that eases the body into a deep state of relaxation while the mind remains aware. It is usually practiced lying down with a teacher guiding the session. During this class, we will journey through the five energetic layers (koshas) through a series of techniques such as the rotation of consciousness through the different parts of the body, breath awareness, and visualizations. This will allow us to release any attachments or impressions and meet our true selves (atman). Yoga Nidra can help to alleviate chronic stress associated with a hyper-vigilant limbic system. It works to balance the nervous system, shifting us away from the survival mode of fight, flight, freeze, or fawn response. This class is for everyone! Wear comfortable clothing.
