Who is Caring for You?
New Moon in Aquarius
It’s the new moon in Aquarius and well I am feeling fulfilled. Yesterday I spent part of my day creating; singing and dancing to jembe and dunun drums with some of my favorite people, Dembaya. I left there feeling fulfilled and I am still on that frequency. What a wonderful experience of freedom when one feels fulfilled. When you KNOW that you are safe, secure, blessed, supported, heard, and loved. When you are content and don’t need anything else because you have received and are truly grateful. I can feel the energy of the divine active in my life. My cup runneth over.
New moon in Aquarius is all about opening to innovation, new ideas, and new ways of expressing life. This a great opportunity to explore new ways to release trauma, pain, and suppressed or repressed emotions. What has been working for me lately is working with my fascia (connective tissue) by using my mind, hands, and intuition to explore my body by firmly pressing into parts that speak. Once you set your intention and open to the wisdom of your body, it will be easier to comprehend what your body is saying. Our bodies are always communicating with us. Many times we ignore the information we receive or are too busy to stop, pay attention, and listen. You can use your breath to release all that energy that may have been sitting in any part of your body waiting to be expressed and can meet it with tenderness and compassion. It is a beautiful and sacred practice whose benefits are long-lasting and plentiful.
Being in community is on repeat in my prayer rotation. To be surrounded by like-minded, and light-hearted people that value the whole and everyone and everything connected to it is priceless to me. In Rest is Resistance by Tricia Hersey, she talks about the necessity of community care. Sit with that for a moment. Community care. We hear a lot about self-care but we hardly hear anything about community care. Why is that? There is power in numbers. “We are stronger together than we are alone.” -Walter Payton. As humans, we need connection and physical touch to grow and be strong and healthy. We need each other. I am reminded of the famous Zulu proverb “Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu," which means a person, is a person, through other people. It is here that the Zulu concept of ubuntu originates, I am because you are.
Who is caring for you? Who are you caring for? Who are you in community with? I encourage you to find your tribe if you don’t already have one. Find the people that bring out the best in you. Put out that call and you will receive an answer. When you receive your answer trust what you are receiving and I pray that you move forward with purpose. Until next time, maintain your frequency as you center love, peace, pleasure, joy, and rest.
