
Womb Phases Queen Bey Style
We are cyclic women. Our bodies hold rhythms, patterns, cycles and circles. We wax and we wane just like the moon. Moon phases, womb phases. One of the keys to understanding our dynamic nature is to grasp the role our hormones play in our feminine ecology.
Menstruation
The uterine lining is released/shed from the body and the pituitary begins making FSH and LH begins to stimulate growth of new follicles (eggs).
Dominant Hormones: Follicle Stimulating Hormone and Luteinizing Hormone
Season: Winter
Moon Phase: New Moon/Shadow Moon
Energy: Inward
General Feeling: Respect my need to rest.
Follicular Phase
One of the follicles becomes dominant and begins to produce more estrogen. The uterine lining thickens and cervical fluid increases.
Dominant Hormones: Estrogen
Season: Spring
Moon Phase: Waxing Moon Phase wihich includes waxing crescent moon, first quarter moon and gibbous.
Energy: Extroverted
General Feeling: I have all these ideas and goals. I’m ready to jump in and get started.
Ovulation
LH surges to trigger the release of an egg. Fertile cervical fluid increases and the cervix is open.
Dominant Hormones: Luteinizing Hormone and Estrogen
Season: Summer
Moon Phase: Full Moon
Energy: High and apexed
General Feeling: I am the Goddess incarnate! I can do anything, achieve anything, be anything!
Luteal Phase
The corpus luteum (shell of the egg that’s released) begins to release progesterone to change the uterine lining. This change makes they body’s temperature higher through the time the period starts. The egg travels down the fallopian tubes.
Dominant Hormones: Progesterone
Season: Autumn/Fall
Moon Phase: Waning Moon Phase which includes third quarter moon, and balsamic moon.
General Feeling: I’m tired.
